Dhading locals wait for relief  -  

DHADING , APR 30 - No rescue teams have reached Khalte of Dhading district so far though it has been five days the locals are awaiting the relief. Patle, Deurali, Khalte, Lyaldanda, Paharechhap, Devisthan, Gairigaun, Dandagaun of Khalte VDC are among the places that are badly affected by the earthquake on Saturday and many aftershocks. There is no record that how many people died and injured in the devastating disaster. People expressed despair as no government body has been present, said Shiva Rimal of Khalte VDC-4.

The VDC is around a four-hour distance on foot from district headquarters. Locals rescued 10 bodies from the remnant of the collapsed houses. The locals are afraid of possible outbreak of epidemic of infectious diseases for bad odour spread in the villages from dead human bodies and carcass of cattle, said Rimal.The houses have been ruined completely and there is no place for shelter. "We are taking shelter in the open sky but none have arrived to condole the grief-stricken villagers," said Ramhari Sharma, a local. Khaltegaun has around 150 houses alone in the VDC.
