Semi-Voluntary Teacher's Training 7-8 Feb 2009
Location: DHADING BESI DHADING NEPAL

EPF Nepal in coordination of IWEN Canada conducted the teacher’s training from 7 Feb to 8 Feb in Dhading besi Dhading as the regular training provided by IWEN Canada. On February 7th, 38 teachers participated. A review was done from the last August training, problems were discussed and a division of the teachers was made; experienced of 3 years or more and the new teachers. On 8th February 2009, EPF, IWEN, and, teachers discussed on the following points and finalized the decisions.
-Time schedule
-Group division
-Differentiation between TRAINEE , COACH & TEAM LEADER
-Problems that will stop the teacher training from being successful. New experimental program was planned for the future program. The sum up the program is given below.

New Experimental Program:
EPF in collaboration with Michelle Bonneau from IWEN will conduct a teacher training program for its Semi-Volunteer Teachers. This program is experimental and both trainer and Teacher Coaches will work together to learn and make this a success.

-The goal of this experimental program is to train a small group of teaches as Coaches so that they in turn can train small groups of teachers.
-The purpose of this type of training is so that the Coaches can demonstrate to their small groups Student-Centered Learning and allow the teachers to ask questions that relate to their situation.
-At the end of the training a hand book on the training modules will be completed for the future reference of the Semi-Volunteer teachers.

1. Teacher Coaches Responsibilities:
-Attend monthly trainings
-Be a COACH and not a trainer or leader. Be a part of the team?
-Ask questions of the trainer so that the Teacher Coaches are able to teach their group of teachers
-Practice what the Teacher Coaches have learned in the Saturday training so that they can see where their teacher’s group might have problems. The Teacher Coaches can do this ANY time that suits them according to their available time. It can be after school, before school, on a Saturday at the EPF office. If it is at the EPF office then the Teacher Coachers must ask Kanchhi Ale for the key and the use of the room
-Keep a record of the issues, concerns or problems they face during the training and/or the problems faced by their teacher’s groups. The Teacher Coaches can either use the Recording Table or keep the information in a copy book.
-Encourage their teachers to practice and report any difficulties
-Accept phone calls from their teacher’s in their training group when needed.
-Report on these problems at the Saturday training

2. EPF Responsibilities Towards the Teacher Coaches
2.1. Training:
-Provide tifin box for the Saturday training
-Provide training materials for the Saturday training and other materials for training as needed
-Provide bus fare and tifin money for the SVTeachers who are far from Dhading so that they can attend the training
2.2. Acknowledgement:
-At the end of December 2009 if the Teacher Coaches have been faithful in doing their responsibilities a letter will be given from both EPF & IWEN-Canada which will state the training Teacher Coaches have attended and given.

-At the end of March 2009 all the SVTeachers will receive a letter stating what topics have been covered in the 3 days of training only if the assignments have been completed by the end of March.

3. Time Schedule for Saturday Training
Teacher’s training will be conducted last Saturday of every English month. The Venue will be at EPF Nepal office Dhading Besi Dhading. The training will start sharp at 10:30 AM and lasts till 4:30 PM.

4. Group Division
The following teachers are selected as the Teacher COACHES who can participate in the training
